  • TR6 engine/belly pan

Moss has a new part available that I just saw in the flesh at Triumphest this past weekend.
It's an alloy sheet that attaches to the frame(?) under the engine with cutouts for the exhaust and oil filter access.
    Quite interesting.

Interesting, is that intended to be a form of protection from road debris to the chassis/engine/gearbox/engine bay etc?

      Somebody's idea of an 'upgrade'

Perhaps it is to make sure the leaking oil lubricates the engine and frame instead of the garage floor?!?

I don't get it. It's the part of the frame least in need of reinforcement, and why do anything to restrict air flow around the engine? Maybe it's for all those people making 4WD mudders out of their TRs.

Well, first thing that crossed my mind was that it would be good to have on a car that was rallied, in the European style of rallying.

I like that they acknowledge in the description that this may not be for everyone.

It isn’t for me. I see no purpose whatsoever except for lightening people’s wallets but if they were to design a firewall that fits behind the rear trim panel and in front of the fuel tank then I might consider opening mine…unless I do it myself first.

think Skid plate not reinforcement. I’ve got one on my MINI and it’s shaved the oil pan many times.

The aerodynamic advantage might give you .329 more mph.
