  • Cheap/decent indoor car cover

Since pollen season has descended upon Atlanta I’m looking for a lightweight door car cover. I’ve got a decent heavier weight version that leaves a decent amount of dust. There are too damn many choices out there so who better to give me a good quick answer than my fellow 6-Packers. What say ye?

I use these....strictly inside the garage. Same as body shops use. Great for keeping dust/pollen off the cars. If you fold them up properly, you can get several uses from each one, i.e. fold the sides up longitudinally over the top, then rollup.
    Cheers,
    Wolf

My preference is WeatherShield products from CoverCraft. However, they have gotten real expensive since I last purchased 10 years ago.

I would be concerned about a plastic bag holding in humidity and causing rust issues if I had those plastic covers on for more than just a few days. Also, if there is ANY dust at all on the car when you put a plastic cover on it, it will scratch the paint.

I have never bought from this place, buy I've been thinking about it.......They offer a wide variety of pricing choices and even their cheapest $24 cover claims to be breathable and have a "soft" lining..........

I have no affiliation to this seller.

i got this just about 6 years ago. the price is up $.04 (us) since i bought it. it covers PD all the time and he lives in the garage with my wood shoppe (see: lots of dust/stuff in the air). i also have lots of yellow pine pollen around (especially right now). none of that stuff permeates the cover. it's quite robust and i'm very pleased with it. ymmv.

Thanks for your responses. And yes, I agree with Walt that the prices do seem to have escalated. I've got a covercraft (I think) that I bought years ago) and it is fine, but seems to leave a bit of dust. I'd like to find a cheap parachute-pants cover, but everyone seems to sell a variety of the same thing I've already got. I'll keep looking, but if anyone runs across one of those extremely lightweight covers then please post a link. Thanks,

I have a cover made out of a couple of flannel cotton bedsheets sewn together.

                Cheers,

Bought one at Autozone quite a few years ago, very light weight, around $20. Kept the dust off the e-type in the garage, use it now for the 250.
