  • Anyone considering doing business with Jet-Hot?

    They apparently do manifold coatings.

A while back, I went to their website for some technical information. What I was looking for wasn't there, but they would send more info if I filled out a form. I did the form, which asked for my name and email address among other things. On things like this, I often give a phony name.

It wasn't even a week before I started getting a flood of junk email all addressed to that phony name I gave them. It's now 3 months later, and I've gotten hundreds of unwanted emails. Insurance companies, home flippers, health scams, home repair scams, etc. They obviously sold my email address.

I have no idea if their products are any good, but their business practices stink. I won't do business with them.

Local Baton Rouge powder coating out fit suggested jet hot for ceramic coating my 71 stock manifold when I was getting a bunch of parts coated, but I have not contacted them as of yet. Since I was not looking for super performance I think my manifold will get derusted and then POR-15 high temp manifold grey paint. Thats not good business what you experienced Ed. Sorry.

Now that you mention it, Ken, I really should go back and check that.

I had the intake and exhaust manifolds done by them. I asked repeated if I should sand blast the exhaust manifold before I sent it to them. they said no. Off they went. 12 months later the rust was poking through. And the intake manifold was done unevenly.

Over all not a good experience for me.

            Interesting.

I used them last year when I re-did my engine bay, traded a few emails with them, sent them my exhaust manifold (not blasted) and got it back very promptly. No problems at all with them.

            Maybe I was lucky?

I used them for my manifold close to 8 years ago and it looks looks like it did when they sent it back to me. I had no problems with them but things might have changed since then...

Just to add my experience, I sent an exhaust manifold to them, took a month for turn around.

Outside was done great, but inside was half done. Which was the main reason to send to them.

I ended up getting a high temp ceramic paint and finishing it myself.

Didn't want to pay shipping again and wait another month

If you watch their marketing videos they claim to QA the work before sending out the door.

I am not impressed with this company.

I am not sure who Richard Good uses, but you may want to contact him as he sends his headers out for ceramic coatings.

I had my TR6 exhaust manifold done by Jet Hot maybe 10 years ago. It still looks great, no rust yet. Also had the E-Type manifolds done by them. Again, no problems.
But, my experience with them was several years ago as I said.

I just dropped mine off at this place. They coat it inside and out, say it’s good for up 1500 degrees (for short periods) and I think 1300 consistent. He said the color won’t change and should be ready in about a week and a half.
