I have seen that some of these have a yellow stripe running length-wise. Is this an original deta? Did all of the cars have these when new?

Thank you for the reply. I know what they look like. Mine is a plain black hose. I have been thinking about painting a stripe on it. My question is really did all of the cars have this type of marking on the booster vacuum line? If no then what years had them?

Yes, that is original. A lot of English sports cars, used that yellow stripped hose. Not to be confused with the spiral or barber shop black and yellow hose. One of the Jag parts suppliers carried a repro of it, but it wasn't not very durable. That was a few years ago though.CF1634U+O Pimento/Chestnut

There’s a guy on the Triumph Experience forum going through a lot of effort to reproduce these yellow striped hoses. Maybe worth a look and possibly get on the list if you’re interested. Lots of people already signed up for a set. Guy doing it has the screen name F1000Racer and the tread is under the TR5/TR250 forum titled “yellow striped radiator hoses”. He’s also planning on doing the brake booster hose, PVC hoses and fuel line.1973 TR6, BRG w/bone interior; restoration completed 2017

Thanks Baws! Long time since we last talked. Thanks Doug. I will check this out. My first impulse was to shove a metal rod though the lose to take the curl out, mask a stripe and then paint it.
I saw some of those repo “Bumblebee” hoses at our local “Day of Triumph”. They looked ok. But I am not in the market for those and not ready to try one on my own. But the brake booster vacuum line is right out there front and center so I will likely give that a try.

After I made the post the other day, I checked the Jag parts "Big 3" (XK's Unlimited, Terry's Jaguar & Welsh Jaguar) and they do list this type of hose. The E-Type's used it for the hard line to brake resevoirs and various other applications.
