  • Michelin Show Only Tires

I have a set of four Michelin red line tires on a set of powder coated rims. The tires were made around 2002, so they aren't recommened for the road although they were on the road until last month. They have less than 7,000 miles on them and look brand new. Is there a market for them? If so how much ? Also comes with nice trim rings and center caps. Rather someone use them than taking up space in my garage.

You have company. I have a similar set of low mileage Michelin redlines on good wheels with undamaged aluminum trim rings decorating/cluttering my garage after installing Konigs. I would expect we are not alone in this.

Aluminum trim rings are getting as rare as Rostyle wheel covers. For Karmann cars these are my preferred wheel over any and all alloy options ( provided the rims are true ). I don't think I'm alone either, so you might factor that into your valuation of them. At a minimum I'd hang on to the trim rings if not the wheels, as I reckon the prices will escalate nicely. These and original leather covered steering wheels are what I look for at shows - both are getting rarer by the year.

I have an unused Michelin tire with some of the label left on the tread. It takes
up room but not a lot. The tire I have on my car are Cooper 195/75R15. I have only 1000mi on them but they are ~15 yrs old. Not safe I guess but I will use the while sorting the car and then change over to the Universals.
