    All of these Lucas ACR alternators are pretty similar, but often not interchangeable.

    Once you mentioned solder, I was out...

    ...Me an engineer with weak soldering skills. Maybe my (im)patience.

    BTW - I think your FLAPS can test alternators...

      Ha! You're not alone! I'm a EE, and know quite a few other EEs who don't solder. Most of those who do picked it up as part of an electronics hobby. I don't think you even need it in school these days.

      OTOH, it's never too late!

      Interesting to see how the two wires feed up the slots in the rotor shaft to just clear the bearing.
