    Indeed - the end of an era. Liz Windsor has been there for as long as I can remember (she was born ~1 month before my mother). I'm Irish, and while many of us have issues with the policies of the British government over the years, I think, for most of the country, our attitude toward the Royal Family ranged from indifference to grudging respect. Her visit to The Republic in 2011 was very well received by most of us. I always thought The Queen was a bit of a bad-ass - to paraphrase "Game of Thrones", "we will never see her like again". Chuck III has big shoes to fill.

      I was in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire form school when Queen Elisabeth was crowned. I still have all the paraphernalia handed to school kids at that time. I loved England and still have fond memories of my life there. I guess that is why the TR6, my love of fish and chips (not the same here), orange marmalade (Smuckers is OK), and other influences.
