Getting about an inch every two hours.
It's a very fine snowfall, blowing sideways, in from the Atlantic.
It is predicted to hold steady for 24 hours. 27 degrees Fahrenheit @ 4 pm.
It's difficult to count them because they move so fast, but roughly 25 birds each minute land for a black oil sunflower seed- then- zoom they are gone, but not for long.

If we reach the forecast high temperature for today, it will be the coldest Valentine's Day in Chicago since records have been kept (late 1800's). We're at 12" more snow than normal, with more coming this week. My daily driver has so much salt on it, deer are coming to it for a lick. We thought we were going to have a mild winter based on January, but February has been pretty awful.Comment

This was a weird one. Cold as alll get out yesterday, but somehow there was warm air above us. So as the snow fell, it melted then refroze before hitting the ground. For several hours, instead of snow, we got that solid ice pellet stuff. Then it switched over to snow. We woke up to 10 degrees. I'm off today. I'm never off for weather.
