Hey all, I realized last night that I never closed this thread off. My last post was in November!!!!

Since then the garage was drywalls, a heater was installed, I painted it, built a workbench, installed cabinets, moved my tools in and started work in prep for spring. Lots done.

My brother-in-law helped hang the sheet rock and then he did all the mussing and sanding for free. It took him seemingly FOREVER to mud and sand but...it was free.

Drywalling took place from mid-Nov all the way to the beginning of Jan.

That little heater I installed is awesome. Small and compact but with the insulated walls it can maintain a temp of 70 degrees in the garage even in the middle of January in Chicago without a problem. Its also controllable from my phone so I can set the temp while inside the house and then walk out to the garage when its warm.

      And here's the final version

After all the drywall and mud I proceeded to paint the ceiling white and the walls a very light gray. Triumph moved in a very short time later and immediately began leaking oil on my nice new floor.

Final step was a workbench, cabinets and some wall decorations.

Cabinets are 24x24 metal cabinets from Menards. Workbench is 2x4 construction and then bolted to the walls. Very stable.

At this point there are a few nits I want to address but, in general, the garage is done!

Currently working to address the oil leak from the oil pan and/or transmission but as long as I'm in there.....

I got oil pans for my leakers. Besides, oil and such is easy to wipe up from epoxy floors.
        The garage looks great!

Yeah, mine is a bit more dramatic than normal. On the drive to TRials it would leak a dinner plate sized spot on the ground within 5 minutes of being parked.

Looks too clean and neat. I can't share photos of mine because it a total mess. I'm seriously jealous Phil.

Af ew years ago, on this forum, there was a cool thread where the members posted pics of their garages that were very interesting, to say the least!
Some were new and some were old, like my own, original, "Termite Terrace". I love my new rendition, sans termites, but I miss the smells of the old version.
To paraphrase, "It's only old and rotting once"

I think this would be a great TRials event….participants to park in a designated spot together overnight…the one with the largest oil spot in the morning wins!

                I have garage envy Phil.

                Cheers
