  • Paretti TR6 on BAT

I remember discussing these cars on here a few years ago…here’s on up for sale on BAT…should be interesting.

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-triumph-tr6-99/

Anyone care to have a guess at the selling price just for fun? ( If it sells).

I think the last time it was being offered for sale in 2015 it was $59000….

    Cheers
    Tush

Those floorboards sure do looked like someone with sandpaper shoes has worked them over!

Its definitely the right color scheme.

I well remember these two cars at Paretti back in the day. They both sat on the showroom floor in New Orleans for years, and yes they were never for sale. The head salesperson said the old man was saving them for his grandkids. They eventually moved them to their Baton Rouge location and stored them in a warehouse, along with a black MGB and two Fieros (they were a Pontiac dealer too) and a Pontiac convertible. The salesman in BR let me sneak into the warehouse because I was so persistent and snap a couple of pics. I posted the pics of the 2 TRs on the net and all hell broke loose. They had inquiries come in from all over the world, literally. The people at Paretti were none too happy. That said, they did eventually sell them both for 35K apiece, or so I was told. Looks like someone on BAT was the lucky buyer or so it seems. Why does the BRG TR on BAT not have an overdrive. I was under the impression that all later TR's came with OD.

The literature is dominated by the British because well…they were British cars. So when reading the literature you have to be careful to understand exactly what car the author is writing about. The later home market cars (74/75) were equipped at the factory with Overdrive. Not so for the North American Spec cars. OD was an option through 76.

It's only up to 30,000 right now and what is that grill badge?

Bill do you remember if the Paretti green car had a hard top, cant tell due to the resolution? It didn't have wires from the picture Bill took. This one has a nice scuff (paint scratch) on the rear wing.

That car indeed did come with only a rag top (look at the invoice) and it did have steel wheels and beauty rings, not wires. I guess the current owner decided to dress it up with a hardtop and wire wheels. That had to cost him a pretty penny. The white one was the same. Neither had hard tops or wires. The red lines were dry-rotted when I snapped those pictures. Those were posted on BCF, back in the day. An interesting aside, Basil booted me off the BCF because I was too antagonistic to his way of thinking. I, being a gun owner myself and ex-military, felt there was no need for people owning military-grade war weapons (AR-15's) and the likes. Guess he voted for the orange-haired guy. I am a consummate liberal. So, Alan, have at it if you will.................

Well Bruce, if you blow it up it says “DelMonte Forrest” which is an area in CA that includes the community of Pebble Beach. Perhaps it was shown there and the 76 is the year of the car, perhaps the category. Perhaps you CA guys may know from there.

Thanks Lou! That's what I thought it looked like, but was that car ever anywhere near the 17 mile srive it's history?

Probably added by its current owner. The car is in Sausalito with 1,100 miles on it now and a scrape on the driver's side rear wing. Also hardtop and wires have been added.

$60K. Someone made a nice profit for a few years of ownership.

I guess I should've read the write up about the owner replacing items on it and damaging the wing.
