  • Horn Surrond and steering wheel recover.

    Is there source for the horn button surround for the '69 steering wheel? TRFand Moss don't show it. Rimmer shows it but supersedes it to the later model round one. Mine isn't damaged just old. Also how or what can the steering wheel be recovered with?

    I haven't seen a source for that version of the horn pad, I'd love to have an extra for my '69, it makes me a little nervous every time I have to remove it.

    I recovered my original wheel with a leather cover from Wheelskins - I don't think it's in their catalog, but they'll make any custom size to the measurements you give them. My cover was a hair loose, so I added a layer of padded bike handlebar tape on the inside and it fit great. I have a short writeup and photos here:

      Someone here took their wheel to a Tack Shop and had it done there. Can’t help you with the horn pad.

        Check with Revington;

        If you cannot find a replacement, Eastwood offers a resurfacing spray that may work on the hub.

          Thanks for all the good suggestions. As far as the horn surround I've been soaking it in Armor All. It's not damaged just old so I think I'll just reuse it. The steering wheel cover is what presents problems. I'll check out the options. Being in horse country the Tack shop is and idea. Thanks.
