Fiddling with vacuum ports today and had occasion to check the bottom port on the rear carb of my '73, which originally supplied vacuum to the dizzy retard. I've had mine dissabled and the port on the carb capped for sometime however. When I did have it connected, whenever I checked the vacuum line and the connections there was always fuel in the line?
That seemed to me "counter productive", so I added a stock style fuel trap in the line, below the carb.
Moot point now, as the port is capped but my question is, what is the purpose of the fuel traps anyway? How do they actually work?
