  • Spring Spacer Doesn't Fit

Installing TSI 1" lower uprated springs. Since the front sat at what I considered a good height before the suspension rebuild, I figured I would add a 1/2" spacer to the new springs. TSI doesn't sell spacers, so I ordered some from GP. They're a little too big to fit into the end of the spring. Tried them on the old spring and they fit perfectly. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if they will pop in after I have the car's weight on them.

    Pete,
You have updated springs. The wire diameter is greater giving you a stiffer spring. Probably 0.535 versus 0.495. So the ID will be a bit smaller. You can safely file the spacer spigot down to suit.

Maybe Ted's springs are wound a little tighter than Goodparts springs? Richard's springs and spacers work perfectly together. As stated above, you car relieve the spacers to make them fit. FYI, a 1/2" spacer will raise the front about 3/4".
