My 6 has been up on a lift for quite some time, maybe 6wks or so. Today I replaced one ball joint and noticed I could not move the rack. Also the car has not been on the road in over a year. I have a trunnion oiler on the way. Any other suggestions other than oiling the trunnions?

The trunnion oiler is a nice tool. It is satisfying to fill a trunnion with 85W/90 weight oil. You will want to pump until the trunnion is full, but you can't tell when enough is enough, so you will overfill it.
The good news is that the excess will leak out overnight and thus reach a happy balance point of being full.
So leave something absorbent under the trunnion to catch the oil that will leak out.

While you are lubing in the vicinity, check for other grease nipples- the upper ball joint is all my '72 had.

Also, grease the steering rack- the manuals recommend 5 strokes of the grease gun into the rack orifice- you have to remove the filler plug.

Then there are always the U-joints, but that gets more involved. And, the axle splines.
Might as well change the gearbox & diff fluids. Flush the brake fluid. Check the carb plungers. Flush coolant.
