  • Frame Strengthening

    i have heard that the TR6 frame flexes a lot, and that you can weld in panels to strengthen it, and reduce this flex. i see a lot of diverse opinions on the net. anyone have experience in this area?

      Sure it flexes - keeps us busy silencing the unwanted noises the crop up regularly!

      Apart from reinforcing the diff mount and fitting the later front A-arm mounting bracket gussets I have no interest in adding stiffness ( and weight ). That's just me; I have plenty of fun with 150+ BHP and the stock suspension in proper alignment and condition. How TRIUMPH saved weight with these cars is quite amazing to me, and cannot be accidental.

      I was shown very early in my driving career that skill way more than offsets marginal gains in handling features; a bit of compliance even makes things more fun and challenging.
