Looks plug and play to me.
Some alternators are internally wired so as not to need that excitation wire.
Connecting it shouldn't be an issue either way.'74 TR6 CF13007U aka "Mr. T"
Custom Blue (Delft-Like) and New Tan (Formerly Mallard and New Tan)
Points, Ballast Bypassed, Bosch Blue Coil, Moss Cobalt Wires, Champion RN12YC plugs.
Peaks and tweaks, but the spirit of Original
Redlines always.
My wife is the Driver, I'm just the Mechanic....

Have you looked at the Dan Masters Triumph TR250-TR6 Electrical Maintenance Handbook. I've had the hardcopy book for many years. He recently posted it on line. It is an excellent reference.
