      +1. That aluminum sticky-backed tape, often used for gutter repair, can be found at Wal-Mart or the big box hardware stores. With careful trimming, you should be able to get a nice surface.

      Krylon also sells a shaker can of metallic silver, which is very reflective. Might also work, if you carefully prepare and mask the surface to be painted.

      Not sure how well these approaches will hold up, but cost is minimal, and normally would be a significant improvement, when compared to the existing reflective surface.

        I used some polyester chrome tape. It has even more shine than the aluminum tape I was first going to try. Here is one I bought, but there are no doubt other suppliers. eBay item 380432899453
