  • Kidney pad speakers

Hello, I would like to know what type of speakers people have used in their kidney Pat. I want to get a small power amp to power them and be able to hear them over wind noise. I am not looking for a great audio experience. Just enough to hear my satellite radio. Mostly talk and news and the Red Sox. What brand, Dimensions, and other specifications do you use? Thank you!

All I can tell you is that 4.5" is about as large a speaker as you can fit on a kidney pad. Once you go past that you might have some fitting issues. All the KPs I make come with a 4.25" hole.

Pretty sure I've gotten 5.25" in a couple of cars.

My car has Infininity 5502i installed.

Pretty sure I installed same in my FILs car.

The hole cutout is typically smaller than the speaker class size....

Finding a lot of speakers dont come with grilles anymore either.

If I were shopping today, I might give Polk Audio a look. They always have quality offerings.
