      Craig,

How deep are those puppies? I went with some very shallow 4" and the the driver's side one touches the heater cables and shaft arms..

        Lou,

Can't answer for Craig, but the new Moss catalog has some on page A6 that are 1.77" deep. No experience with them, just thought I'd mention it. I believe it's pretty common to find speakers that are 2 1/4" deep or less. I found some Pioneer Premier speakers that were around 2" deep IIRC.

        Cheers,

          Kevin,

I have 4" speakers that are right under 2" deep and that's what butt up against the heater controls on the driver's side.

Has anyone gone on the outside kick panel instead of on the tunnel?

My car had some there when I bought it. They were a gob of rust with rotted cones, apparently they get wet there. Got two on the tunnel and two on the shelf, when you balance and fade them, they sound good.

I lied, the speakers are 5 1/4's. I had to go dig them out of the pile of parts.

One installation I saw a few years ago.

Not sure what mods , if any, needed to be be made to install.

No, they don't rub. The shape is different than the originals to move the speakers down a little and I do have the bar that goes across over the tranny hump that the two panels screw into.
