I made my own panels, starting with a rough shape from photos and making a cardboard template as I went. It's not a highly visible area, so I wasn't too worried about precision, just getting it solidly mounted and making the front look good. I didn't save the pattern since it's not hard to re-create. I didn't make speaker holes, so can't speak to the size (and odd that none of the suppliers seem note the size either).

Does anyone have a pattern/template of the kidney panels? Or make a template for me? I would like to make some. I already have the board, vinyl and foam from other projects.

Also, what size speakers fit in the panels? There is a good sale at Crutchfield right now so I would like to buy the speakers now.

    Thanks.

    Kidney Pads

Does anyone know of source for kidney pads (speaker pads) made of a material other than chipboard? Made of plastic, say, and not subject to breakage like the typical pads available from TRF and Moss.
