Can you tell where the oil is coming from? The front and rear sealing blocks are notorious for leaking no big deal. If it?s comming from the engine bell housing junction, could the rear main or the input shaft seal. Most cars leak a bit, it?s their way of market by their territory.

For the kind of money that Mr. Kyle is asking, you should insist that the previous owner/mechanic put it on his lift and look at the leak; and explain its significance.
Personally, I would be more concerned about learning the current engine cylinder compression numbers.
That car's pricing is in the PPI (pre-purchase inspection) price territory- spend a $100., or whatever, to have a specialist check everything.Walt
