I think the big thing is examining the oil/filter for metal bits. Cut the filter open if using a spin on

Just be careful that you don’t move gears around when/if you pull the top cover. If in neutral, I’m assuming the mainshaft will turn easily?...

Agreed. I think the valve cover is a point of contention. Some were chrome and some were painted....

Here’s my 68 250 Tag. Look closely at the alignment of the boxes on the right side. Then look at the TRF tag...

Disconnect ground step one.
I would recommend pulling the dash but it isn’t required. Even though things are rearranged it would be wise...

the 68 250 plates are unique as are the 69 TR6 plates. Very subtle difference between the 2. I think TRF pictures the 69 plate
